Over billed us for routine, annual lab work to the tune of $459.00. We have a $20.00 copay, but were told by the super-officious clerk that the copay has always been $50.00.
This is incorrect, but we paid it anyway, expecting to get a credit or refund. Not the case. The plot thickens. We received the bill for $459, and promptly called LabCorp to report the error.
We were told the Dr. wrote the wrong order and to pay the bill. Called the Dr. who proved she wrote the correct order.
Called our insurance and they told us the $459 bill and $50 copay are incorrect. Called LabCorp again with our findings, and they told us to pay up. Called our insurance, had a 3-way conference call with me, LabCorp rep and insurance rep. Bill was corrected and dismissed per LabCorp.
Fast forward about 4 months. Same thing started all over again. Only this time, with a collection notice for $459. Filing complaints with various agencies today.
Seems like a scam to me.
Very prevalent according to the reviews here. Anyone interested in filing a class action suit?
